INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT - COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

Introduction

This course is aimed at teachers and school staff from pre-school level to primary, secondary, vocational, adult and special needs education, staff of non-government organizations, government and policy makers and company staff as well as students and all those who are interested in international activities and project management in educational context. The course will focus on virtual collaboration projects in eTwinning and exchange partnership projects in Aces and Erasmus+. Participants are expected to have at least B1 level of English proficiency.

 

Methodology

Methodology is based on theoretical lessons and presentations of examples of good practice as well as discussions and experience comparisons. Participants will have the opportunity to develop personal and professional skills for communication and collaboration with partners from abroad and master basic tools for virtual communication and collaboration for project planning, management, evaluation and dissemination through workshops, simulations and action learning. By the end of the course participants will have a draft plan for an international collaboration action of a partnership project.

 

Objectives

  • Understanding of communication channels and collaboration environments.

  • Improving the participants’ leadership skills and sense of initiative.

  • Understanding how international actions and partnership projects can be incorporated into lessons and school curriculum.

  • Understanding monitoring and evaluation strategies and mastering tools for them.

  • Developing communication, collaboration, presentation, problem solving, negotiation, critical and creative thinking skills.

  • Understanding dissemination channels and their benefits.

  • Boosting participants’ confidence in international communication and collaboration as well as in project management.

  • Enhancing understanding of the potential international collaboration actions and projects have in education and opportunities they provide.

  • Enhancing professional skills through mastering tools for virtual communication and collaboration.

  • Providing and exercising creative ideas and practical resources for successful implementation of projects and international collaboration actions in education in different school settings (arts and crafts, science, language, citizenship, computer science, management, etc.) to be used with pupils as well as with staff.

  • Improving English fluency (official language of the course).

  • Promoting intercultural awareness. 

  • Sharing experiences of international collaboration and partnership projects from different organizations in order to help each of us to be more effective in our work.

  • Strengthening the European collaboration among people interested in partnership projects in education in different contexts.

  • Providing insights into different education systems.

 

Networking opportunities and cultural programme

The course includes networking opportunities and cultural exchange opportunities to create European dimension and find possible partners for future projects as well as a city tour or a cultural trip (depending on the location). These are included in the course fee and at no additional expence for participants.

Preparation

After registration participants will receive pre-course questionnaire which will be used by the trainer to learn about participants’ teaching backgrounds and to assess their exact needs. Before the beginning of the course a basic reading list will be suggested to participants to prepare for the training. Participants will also be asked to prepare a presentation about themselves, their professional context and their culture which will be presented during the course. Participants will receive information about the country they are going to visit in order to prepare them for their cultural experience.

Follow up

 

After the course participants will be asked to share what they have learned with the rest of the staff in their schools. Further books and articles to deepen the topic and contacts with some other practitioners all over Europe and in the world will be suggested by the trainer. The methods shared and explored and the bibliography given will allow the participants to complete and improve their educational path.

Certificate

 

Each participant will get a course attendance certificate and the Europass Mobility Document.

 

Accommodation

 

We do not directly offer accommodation and subsistence and participants are responsible for organizing it by themselves.

 

Paperwork

 

We also provide all the support with paperwork you might need for your Erasmus+ project documentation such as mobility agreement and registration letter.

Cancelation policy

 

We have a flexible cancellation policy in force at the moment and you can cancel your registration up to 30 days before the course and receive a full refund. In case you don't cancel the registration more than 30 days before you will not receive any refunds, but you will be able to choose to attend any other confirmed course session later without any additional costs. In case you are not able to travel, your school can send somebody else to take part in the course instead of you and you can change the details of the participant any time before the start of the course at no additional cost.

   Day 2

  • Overview of the objectives of Erasmus+ programme

  • Analysis of Key Actions with focus on Key Action 1 and Key Action 2 and opportunities for international partnerships they provide

  • Analysis of the priorities of the programme

  • Task on project application draft: Needs analysis and objectives

   Day 3

  • Overview of examples of good practice in a variety of projects categories

  • Introduction to communication channels and collaboration environments 

  • Practical workshop on communication and collaboration skills development

  • Task on project application draft: Communication arrangements

   Day 4

  • How to find and choose partners

  • Task on project application draft: establishing the project team and assigning roles

  • Team Building and networking activities

  • City tour or a cultural trip

  Day 5

  • Online tools for collaboration in international partnership projects

  • eTwinning

  • European School Education Platform 

  • Apps for team management

  • Task on project application draft: choosing the most useful platforms and apps and how they will help meet the needs of the project

   Day 6

  • Practical workshop on initiative and leadership skills development

  • Task on project application draft: planning project activities and determining responsibilities within teams

   Day 7

  • Completing the project application drafts (working on the final course outputs).

  • Peer reviewing the project application drafts.

  • Individual support

  • Presentation of outputs  (final project application drafts).

  • Group reflection, feedback and discussion.

  • Dissemination strategy and European dimension.

  • Validation of the learning outcomes.

  • Evaluation of the course.

  • Closing session.

10 days programme (50 didactic hours = 5*45 min + 15 min break per day) 800 €
